The Ava Marie Foundation is now in its second year of supporting bereaved parents and their families following the loss of a child. We have a brand new state of the art bereavement Hub which will be finished for completion towards the end of this year where we will provide care of the deceased child, provide sibling 1-1 play sessions and provide 1:1 and group counselling sessions.
On the 11th July 2020 Ava-Marie would have turned two, unfortunately all fundraising efforts had to be cancelled but we would love to be able to fund raise to purchase two Cuddle Cots for the bereavement hub which will be lent to bereaved parents to allow them to make memories with their child.
For those of you who do not know what a cuddle cot is, its a small refrigerated machine that connects to a cooling mat, once the baby has passed away the child can be placed on top of the cooling mat in order to preserve the baby and allowing families to make memories with their child without the need for the child to have to go to a funeral directors or mortuary.
