Story
Ashtead VIllage community and friends have been mobilised to help with the Afghanistan crisis. Large amounts of food, clothing, toys and toiletries were donated and given to the refugees direct as they arrived at Birmingham Airport. At least 1,000 per day. Sadly, there are no more rescue flights.
Donations of medicines, toiletries and other specific items are now needed to be handed to the new arrivals. These will be taken by volunteers to the hotels where the refugees are staying while in quarantine and until they are put into local authority care. All specific items required will be requested on the Facebook page of Ashtead Unhinged.
We have learnt of many tragic stories when we have delived much needed supplies and the donations have gone a very small way to improving the quality of many lives in their hour of need.
This page is used to fund transport to the quarantine hotels and to purchace the much needed specific items required.
