Story
Ardgowan Hospices In-Patient Unit has had an urgently needed new boiler installed.
This £20,000 expense unfortunately arrives at a time where our income has been heavily impacted by COVID-19 and our fundraising events have been cancelled for the majority of 2020 and 2021.
Last March our annual ball raised £30,000 for the Hospice. This March there is a gap in the calendar.
For this reason we have to again turn to you, our incredible supporters, to help cover the cost of this important piece of equipment.
What surprised me most when we first visited the hospice was how homely it was. It was warm and cosy, and the staff were so friendly. It felt like home.
On Facebook we have over 8,000 followers. If each one of our followers donated just £3 we would more than hit our target.
We cannot begin to express just how much the support you have given since the start of this pandemic is appreciated. You have demonstrated the power of Inverclyde's community spirit these last 11 months by ensuring that Ardgowan Hospice, and other local charities, have been able to carry on delivering our work locally.

- above, staff say "thank you" to Inverclyde for their support during the first lockdown.
I was truly moved learning about the various fundraising efforts the people of Inverclyde have embarked on, and I know it to be the honest truth when my team say, 'we couldn't do it without you' - Frances Downer, new Director of Care at Ardgowan Hospice
While we are again asking for kind donations, please only donate if you're in a comfortable position to do so at the moment. Covering the cost of this boiler will allow us to direct our own funds to important patient care, but your own financial wellbeing is just as important to us.
Funds above and beyond the £20,000 target will be used toward additional maintenance costs, such as new patient showers, to help us continue providing the best care we can to our patients and their families.
Together We Care, now more than ever.
