Story

Bathing Belles unite in a sponsored swim down an icy Snowdonia lake in mid-October! This valiant band all ladies so far and aged from 40 to 75 will dive into the water (predicted to be a mere 9 degrees) during the week of Oct 12th (weather dictating the day). The money raised will go to support Annos Africas programmes in Malawi and Kenya.

Due to the global pandemic, schools in both countries have been in lockdown since May, leaving the pupils with no official education, and many parents have found themselves out of work with no alternative income. Through our affiliate CBO Annos One Fine Day we have been able to keep running classes and feeding the children in our art centre despite restrictions; making the space Covid safe, holding zoom classes offered by generous teachers world-wide, and delivering food parcels to assist families left with no income for months on end.

At this time of year we would normally be gearing up for one of our well-loved fundraising events, however due to the increasing restrictions and rising corona virus cases in the UK we have not been able to arrange an in-person event leaving us running close to empty, but desperate to continue providing a lifeline to the children in our Kenyan arts centre and schools in Malawi. Undeterred and ambitious, we have decided on the sponsored swim to help fill our coffers and make sure the children get both arts and academic teaching until schools restart in January.

Please, please help us by donating any sum truly every little helps, and even a small regular donation can go a long way. We will be super grateful for your help and so will our children and teaching teams. Please also share this post with everyone you know!
