Story
It is a great sadness that so many of us will not have the opportunity to go on Pilgrimage to Lourdes this year. However, never ones to be deterred, the Ampleforth Lourdes Pilgrimage will be journeying together, physically as well as spiritually, in a different way this year!
Help us support our Pilgrimage family, as well as those who make it possible, by joining in A Pilgrimage for Pilgrimage over the next 3 weeks. Our plan is to collectively roll, run, cycle, shuffle, walk and even swim the 854 miles from Ampleforth to Lourdes between us, from our own homes. Whether you ve only been to Lourdes once, are about to collect your 25 year medal, or havent been back since 1963, we would love you to get involved and support us, however you are able to.
We will be raising funds along the way, by people taking part in our journey if you they would like to, or by making a donation yourself. This money will fund our Virtual Pilgrimage this year as well as enabling us to support two Communities that make our Annual Pilgrimage possible the Acceuil Marie St Frai and Ampleforth Abbey.
Whilst the Pilgrimage is unable to physically take place in 2020, we know that its place in the calendar is central to so many of us, whether we are helpers, Assisted Pilgrims, doctors or chaplains. Therefore, this year, we will be holding our Pilgrimage online, coming together for key services and core activities that can still take place from our own homes. This is a life line for so many who travel with us each year and, although it can't replace the very special experience of being in Lourdes, we can continue to support each other as a Pilgrimage Family. We hope you will help us to make this a reality and thank you so much for your support!
