Story
The Amani Centre initiated a Special Needs Primary School in 2014 at its Mvomero Site. Most, though not all, of the 70 pupils have a hearing impairment. The school is one of only two residential establishments in Tanzania catering for children with special needs. In 2021, the first cohort of children completed their primary education. Thanks to funds raised, mainly by FOAT, Amani has been able to construct one classroom [now in use] and is in the process of building a second one for the first cohort of secondary school children. However, it desperately needs funds totaling £5,500 for a dormitory for the secondary girls.
