Story
Alexander O'Neal, American R&B, soul singer, songwriter and composer, teams up with The Salvation Army & Homeless Worldwide to produce a brand new cover & music video of the hit 'What A Wonderful World' to help raise funds for homeless people this Christmas.
Homeless people facing hardship and loneliness need your support now more than ever this Christmas, and through your kindness The Salvation Army & Homeless Worldwide can provide compassion and practical help without judgement.
As recently appointed ambassador for Homelessness Worldwide, O'Neal said:
I want to bring to the world's attention just how bad things are, but also how good they could be. It is such a privilege to be involved with these two great organisations.
Both charities are established on the grounds of making a tangible difference. Jenny Roberts, Founder of Homeless Worldwide, explains that she started the foundation after losing her brother to homelessness on the streets in London 2018. It was her grief that acted as a catalyst to make a change for the better.
Lieut-Colonel, Dean Pallant, Secretary for Communications for The Salvation Army in the UK & Ireland said:
This Christmas rough sleepers need The Salvation Army more than ever as many traditional winter night shelters have been forced to close because they cant be made COVID safe. Our frontline is out there delivering blankets, warm clothes and hot food helping to keep those forced to sleep on the streets safe. We are extremely grateful to Alexander O'Neal and Jenny Roberts at Homeless Worldwide for drawing attention to the plight of rough sleepers at this incredibly difficult time as temperatures begin to plummet.
The single and music video is available on all major platforms from November 30th 2020.
