Story

Thank you for coming to this page - it shows you are thinking of young people with haemophilia and that means a lot to us.

Alex Dowsett is a professional cyclist who has severe haemophilia A. He is the only known sportsperson with this bleeding disorder who competes at the highest level in an able-bodied field. Alex has wanted to break this record since it was taken from him in 2015.

A prestigious event held in conjunction with the UCI, cyclings global governance body, has been no easy task to set up and plan for. Alex must ride over 220 laps of the velodrome in one hour, averaging a speed of 55km/h to break the current world record.

He rides for young people with bleeding disorders all around the world to show them that their condition need not limit their dreams and aspirations. Little Bleeders and The Haemophilia Society want to ensure that we are there to support the well-being of young people with bleeding disorders, through Youth Camps and financial assistance that helps families get their little bleeders into sport and movement.

We are already working on plans to go the extra mile for our young bleeders here, and any donations you can offer will help us hold the event and financially assist families into sport and movement.

Please do tell others about our work.

And thank you again for your support and for any donation you can make.
