We work to enable asylum seekers & refugees living in Kirklees to rebuild their lives after the hardship & distress of fleeing their homes. Aided by a growing team of volunteers, we offer advocacy and holistic support through a range of services...demonstrating the warmth of Huddersfield's heart.

Story

We're raising funds to provide Access to Justice for people who seeking asylum, whose cases fall outside of Legal Aid, through no fault of their own.

The fund will focus on people with strong asylum cases whose initial claims were refused because of poor comprehension, guidance or access to justice.

Legal Aid only covers 5 hours of solicitor time which, sadly, is often not enough for complex cases dealing with multiple types of trauma.

The Home Office's own figures reveal a high level of overturned negative decisions, where the courts find against the government. The Nationality and Borders Bill looks set to see the number of erroneous refusals increase.

Refused Asylum Seekers are destitute Asylum Seekers - some of the most vulnerable people in our society and yet, no less deserving of their right to access justice.

Your donation will help us ensure that this right can be exercised.
