One Tablet Can Make All The Difference!
At Halifax Society for the Blind, we've been helping local people with sight loss and blindness since 1888, and 2020 has been no exception. In fact, we've extended and re-arranged our services so that people can connect more easily from their own homes too.

We've been providing special tablets and mobile phones which have large print and speech output, so people with sight loss can gain confidence in technology and use them to improve the quality of their daily lives..
Our trained volunteers then connect and provide remote support. This has proved very popular, and it's connecting people to loved ones and enabling greater independence. But it does cost money. Each of our special tablets costs £660, and we hope you will be able to think about this most inspiring scheme as we head towards Christmas, and make a Christmas gift, by getting together to buy a tablet for somebody in need.
