Story
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Melanoma is the most serious form of skin cancer, causing more than 1,700 preventable deaths a year. If detected early we can successfully treat it. With support from the Australian With funding from the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF), the ACRF Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis will implement 15 3D total body photography machines across Australia for the monitoring moles and the early detection of skin cancer.
We aim to improve outcomes for melanoma and other skin cancers and develop a roadmap for a nation-wide targeted melanoma screening program in Australia.
