Story

The 7th Hanwell Scout group was founded 90 years ago in May 1933. Our current building, 'The Warren', was completed over 50 years ago in 1972. Whilst it has stood the test of time, it has now fallen into a dilapidated state and urgently needs updating.

We need to raise up to £390,000 in order to bring our Scouting into the 21st century. This money will enable us to create a refreshed, modern building for our group and one that can also be used by the wider community.

Please support us with our efforts to create an environment where all our young people and wider community can thrive.

Fabulous new building we will create:

Existing run-down building:

In August 2020, one of our former Scouts, Jonathan, now an Explorer, raised £12k towards our rebuild project. He received an Unsung Hero award from Chief Scout Bear Grylls for his efforts! See his campaign pages at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/HeWillNeverRideABike

Many others have been involved in raising money from selling cakes, running marathons, local grants and more! See https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/7thhanwellhut

The Scout movement welcomes young people and volunteers from all backgrounds. They enjoy a varied programme of activities and become active citizens of a connected community. Scouts and ex-scouts learn more skills, volunteer more often, and contribute to a kinder, more cohesive society.
