Story
Throughout the month of May, we're encouraging you to complete at least 5k in any way you choose to raise vital funds for our charity. Whether you prefer walking, running, swimming, cycling, dancing, or roller skating, the choice is yours! You can opt to cover the distance in a single session or spread it out over the entire month. Make sure to ask your friends and family to sponsor you and all the proceeds will go towards protecting and promoting the mental health care of all healthcare workers.
Shockingly, in the UK alone, one doctor dies by suicide every three weeks, and one nurse every week. These numbers underpin the urgent need for mental health resources and support within the healthcare community. We provide initiatives to promote and protect the mental health of all health workers through our range of free programmes and we need your donations to continue our vital work.
This year our 5K in May campaign encourages you to take ‘One Step Forward’, both in terms of the physical challenge but also for healthcare workers to reach out for support by taking a step in the right direction.
Throughout the challenge, Doctors in Distress will be there to support you every step of the way. Whether you need motivation, encouragement, or simply someone to share your progress with, we're here for you.
Join us this May as we stride towards better mental health support for healthcare workers. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and ensure that no healthcare professional feels alone in their struggle.
