"The Race for Free Spirit: A 50-year Uprising” is a live, once-in-a-lifetime event about PJ & Roy Hirabayashi's 50 years of taiko and how they used the drum as a platform to catalyze social change, build community from the ground up, and champion a new category of Asian American music and creative expression despite facing the unrelenting challenges equity, visibility, social justice, cultural appropriation, and anti-Asian hate.
