Story
We've been working towards a world where fewer people die by suicide for 50 years
We've come a long way since 1969 . We've trained over 1,300 Samaritans and responded to around 30,000 calls for help a year . We also promote good mental health throughout our communities by working with local agencies and organisations such as:
- Oxleas and South London and Maudsley NHS Trusts
- local schools and universities
- drop-in centres for homeless people like the 999 Club
- Network Rail
- Belmarsh, ISIS and Thameside prisons.
We'd like your support to do even more!
We want to be where the need is, to be there for anyone in our community who is suffering with mental health problems, feels distressed, lonely, unheard or suicidal.
We want to raise more funds to help us:
* increase our outreach work, being there for people who are vulnerable, homeless and who have complex needs
* encourage talking about good mental health and wellbeing across our boroughs
* reach out to more children and young people through schools and youth groups.
