Story
What our clients say;
"It is empowering to see kind people in the hardest time of your life who are genuinely willing to help. Miracles do happen."
"It felt like I was "done up like a kipper" but thrown a life line at the 11th hour !"
"I am writing in regards to the incredible representation that we had from FRU. Our representative was absolutely outstanding and worked tenaciously throughout the case in every way possible went over and above the call of duty and restored [the clients] faith in herself. She showed passion, dedication, and absolute professionalism in her work and we are all very grateful feel very lucky to have had such wonderful representation that we couldnt let it go unnoticed. I thank you again for being the light in dark times for us all."
Imagine if you were forced to apply to a tribunal to protect your rights. Your basic income could be at stake, or you might be trying to prove that you'd been discriminated. against. Would you confidently present your case to the judges, would you be able to call evidence, examine witnesses and make submissions on the law?
The quotes above illustrate what our service means to our clients. We represent people in employment, social security and criminal injuries compensation tribunals. Legal aid isn't available for these hearings, and our clients can't afford to pay a lawyer. Our service may be the only way possible to get legal representation, and the only way to keep someone out of poverty.
Our volunteers take on these complex cases for free. They spend dozens of hours of their own time working with the client to get the case ready. The volunteer provides a professional service, to the same standard as if they were being paid. For 50 years we've been training volunteers to provide this service.
We need to raise £50,000 to keep our service going. The funds will pay for the cost of legal officers to train, support and supervise our volunteers. Without legal officers we can't offer our service.
Please donate what you can to get us to our target.
Thanks again.
