New Van for 4th Canvey Island Sea Scout Group

Our old van has seen better days and we are in much need of a new one. We hope to raise £10,000 for a new van that is fit for purpose and allow our leaders to support the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers well into the next decade.

Story

4th Canvey Island Sea Scout Group are in desperate need of a new Van. The van is an essential piece of equipment for our volunteer leaders to use in support of the activities for our young people.

A large Scout Group, 4th Canvey Island consists of two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs, a Sea Scout Troup and is home to a long standing affiliation with the Columbus Explorer Scout Unit.

Besides each section meeting once a week in term time, members of 4th Canvey are able to take part in a number of activities, these include: Boating, Camping, Archery, Climbing and much more.

Scouting is very inclusive and a great opportunity for young people from all walks of life to meet new friends, attain new skills and build resilience.

The van is a vital tool in making all of this happen and our current van is just about on its last legs. In 2020 we hope to raise £10,000 which will be enough to buy a new van that will last into the next decade. Please dig deep and thank you.
