Story

H&K Cycle Club, with your support has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for humanitarian aid projects all over the world through our Annual 3 Cities Challenge over the years.

This year, our team of 26 cyclists and support vehicle drivers shall embark on our 9th annual 3 Cities Challenge this August. Our team of riders will start from Sarajevo in Bosnia and cycle to Nis in Serbia, finishing the ride in Sofia in Bulgaria. This year's 3 Cities Challenge will by far be the most challenging for the team. Cycling over 350 miles with over 19,000ft elevation in just 3 days.

Once again with your help, we want to make a real difference.

Cataracts are the leading cause of reversible blindness worldwide. We aim to provide life changing cataract surgery to the poor and needy in Bangladesh in partnership with BHDI (Bangladesh Health Development Initiative). A cataract is a medical condition in which the lens of the eye becomes progressively opaque, resulting in blurred and patchy vision. Surgery replaces the defective lens with an artificial lens, thereby restoring the vision of the patient.

For just £50 we can provide cataract surgery to a patient in Bangladesh, including pre-operative assessment and post-operative care with provision of spectacles (if needed). £50 may not sound like a lot of money but it is beyond the means of the poor and needy who we intend to help.

This project is Zakat & Sadaqah applicable and shall be handled under a 100% donation policy.

About the charity
