Benefits to people with lung cancer
By signing up and raising money, you are helping to improve the lives of people with lung cancer. People like Natasha.
Natasha is living with incurable lung cancer, something aged 49 she never saw coming.
After receiving her diagnosis, Natasha joined one of our online support groups where she was able to talk openly to others facing a similar diagnosis, receive information about treatments and advice on dealing with side effects.
Natasha then went on to receive peer support coaching which has helped her to take back control of her life and live well with this disease.
Without the support of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, I wouldn't be where I am now. The charity and the wonderful people who work there have made a horrific year so much easier. Through joining the support group, I have made life long friends and for that, I can't thank this charity enough. I am also so proud to be part of its latest awareness campaign, Be Unforgettable. Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation keeps this often discarded disease of the forefront of discussions. The Be Unforgettable campaign was phenomenal and presenting it at the House of Commons was such a huge achievement. I'm now determined to help this charity achieve even more.
Completing your 31 miles in March and raising money means we can continue to support Natasha and the thousands of other people living with lung cancer in the UK.
Your support means we can answer the questions of a terrified wife whose husband has just been diagnosed with lung cancer. It can allow us to run online and face-to-face support groups UK-wide so no one faces lung cancer alone. It can enable us fund research to save future generations and challenge misconceptions to help more get the earlier, life-saving diagnosis that Natasha was denied.
31 Miles in March may not be the biggest challenge. It may not be the hardest challenge out there. But taking it on will make a BIG difference to those living with lung cancer.
