Story
The main goal of Bright Ideas for Tennis is to encourage more people to play more tennis. Our fantastic sport has been medically proven to not only improve ones physical health, but also to aid and maintain ones mental well-being.
Over the past 8 years, we pride ourselves on knowing that we have worked with over 400 UK venues, personally coached approximately 10000 players, have raised in excess of £850,000, and have provide a further 9000 hours of free community coaching schemes as a result.
Our fundraising events have enabled clubs to floodlight existing courts, resurface tired surfaces, and provide disability access / equipment where needed.
Our next fundraising event will be the 9th time that Bright Ideas for Tennis have hosted a 24hr tennis marathon. Former GB Davis Cup and Fed Cup players will be coming together on 26th/27th February at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton and all funds raised will be used in order to expand our disability tennis programme, 'I Play 30'.
We currently operate 'I Play 30' sessions at 30 venues across 13 counties of the UK. All venues provide a minimum of 1 hour of free tennis per week to local SEN schools / community support groups. Feedback from coaches, teachers and volunteers has been fantastic, and it is very apparent that our sessions are proving physically, mentally, emotionally and socially beneficial to all participants.
