Story

Sage Foundation provides funding for different community clinics throughout Maricopa County. Staffed by licensed physicians and 3rd and 4th year medical students from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, these clinics serve children and families in low-income school districts, survivors of domestic violence, unsheltered women and children working through trauma, those living with HIV/AIDS, and others recovering from substance abuse. Our goal is to empower communities by providing a healthy foundation for which they can begin to improve their lives.

Our clinic at Hamilton Elementary School was opened in 2002 as a way to provide preventative healthcare to the children and their families in the Murphy School District. Previously, income would prevent residents from seeking preventative care, oftentimes leading them to wait until emergency situations to seek care. The Hamilton clinic provides preventative primary healthcare to these families including yearly checkups; non-opioid pain management; womens health; mens health; school physicals; diabetes, high blood pressure & weight management; mental & emotional health; labs; and imaging services. Students from SCNM provide this care under faculty physician supervision.
