The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThe Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is delighted to once again be the Official Race Charity of Round the Island Race.
The Trust takes young people sailing to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer. This year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary, having been launched by the history-making yachtswoman in July 2003.
Since becoming the Official Race Charity in 2005, over £300,000 has been raised for the Trust, enabling us to support hundreds of young people post-treatment. No fewer than 24 young people will once again be taking part in the race across four boats this year including our iconic Solent Hero.
We would like to encourage competitors and friends of the race to make a positive difference in young people's lives this summer by joining our #200for20 birthday challenge, which is launching on the day of the race.
Set a goal of raising £200 as an individual or as a crew in a nod to our 20th year in the lead-up to this year's race. Check out some ideas on the Trust's website for inspiration, or come up with your own, it is entirely up to you.
Alternatively, donate £20 today, and let's watch the total climb!
Thank you so much for helping us raise vital funds and awareness.
