Food is essential to health, and The Rhode Island Community Food Bank provides nutritious meals to Rhode Islanders facing food insecurity. Thats why Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has been a dedicated supporter of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank for more than a decade. BlueAngel volunteers have supported food access through initiatives like Gobble Games, Summer Snackdown, the Step Up for Hunger Challenge, Blue across Rhode Island, and more.

* In 2019, associates carried 3,736 pounds of food into the office, where it was transported directly to the Food Bank.

* In 2020, your support raised $20,000 to support families navigating food scarcity during COVID-19.

* This year, the Rhode Island Food continues to face high demand as they and their clientele navigate COVID-19. The Food Bank is able to purchase food in bulk, leveraging donated funds to get the most food. The most effective way to support the Food Bank is to donate funds so they can directly purchase what is most needed. BCBSRI will match Gobble Games donations up to $20,000, so we have the opportunity to raise $40,000 to provide food to Rhode Islanders!
