Story
Whilst we're unable to celebrate Founder's Day in the usual fashion again this year, we still hope to bring the Elizabethan community together in support of the School.
The Founder's Day Fete, organised by FQE, is the single biggest annual fundraiser to provide state-of-the-art facilities, and increased opportunities, for the benefit of the students. Thanks to previous fundraising efforts, the School now has a fabulous library, multi-purpose hall, swimming pool and a marvellous dining hall, but QE continues to have ambitious goals for the construction of outstanding new facilities. Our current project, to build and furnish a new music school, is progressing well and is set to open this autumn. But the school still needs your help.
Our objective is to raise money to fund new developments at the School, from which all students will directly benefit. The fete usually makes about £20,000 for the School and this support is needed more than ever in the current climate. The Elizabethan community met this challenge last year so let's see if we can match or even surpass this!
Generations of boys have been helped by the extraordinary generosity of parents, friends, neighbours, and Old Elizabethans. Please give however much you can and leave a message of support.
Alongside our YouTube broadcast, we have The Great Founders Day Bake Off - a special Showstopper challenge set and judged by former Great British Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc. Give it a go, get sponsored for your bakes, and send the pictures to news@qebarnet.co.uk
Also please show you support for the Lad family (Kiaron, year 9 and Jaydon, year 7) who are fundraising by running and cycling 300km.
