Story
We wear black because a staggering 28% of Londoners (2.5 million people) live below the poverty line.
For the past eight years, the Junior League of London has combated poverty through the Little Black Dress Initiative. The November 2020 campaign was a success thanks to our many donors and supporters. Campaigners wore the same black outfit for five consecutive days from 9 November - 13 November 2020, in order to raise awareness about the issue of poverty in London.
Since 2014, the Junior League of London's Little Black Dress Initiative has raised over £145,000 to benefit local community partners and the Leagues outreach and volunteer training programs. Now, more than ever, outreach programs need your financial support in order to serve communities grappling with the economic realities of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you agin for your support for this campaign. The campaign page will remain open if you did not have an opportunity to donate during LBDI week, please consider doing so now to help alleviate the strain of poverty on our community.
