Story
Coronavirus has had far reaching impacts and touched everyone's lives. We are looking to raise funds that will help us to support three scholars who had given up their accommodation and employment in preparation to undertake an intense 9 months travelling educational programme run by the SPAB and its many voluntary hosts and contributors. The pandemic had resulted in the cancellation of their 2020 scholarship programme a week prior to it commencing on the 23rd of March, to safeguard all from the health risks of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the support from these funds, we hope to assist the three scholars both in their immediate needs and to ensure that they are able to undertake the Scholarship programme next year. They no longer have their own accommodation and are seeking temporary employment and places to stay in the interim and throughout their year in limbo. Both are hard to come by during lockdown, and a challenge to sustain knowing that they will leave them to attempt the Scholarship again in March 2021. We wish to make sure that they can undertake the Scholarship in 2021 and to eventually benefit from the education that will help them protect and repair our historic buildings.
Please help us by donating, or by undertaking a fundraising campaign to help the cause - for example, 2017 Scholar Lilian Tuohy Main is producing water colour pantings from photographs of peoples lockdown workplaces for donations - See profile 'Liliantuohy' on Instagram.
Please email us an image of and a link to your fundraising efforts for us and we shall update these onto this campaign page.
With greatest thanks, the Dance Scholarship Trust.
