The LakesOfMaine.org website is an online service of Lake Stewards of Maine (LSM), a statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit that trains and supports volunteer citizen lake scientists, and provides comprehensive information to the public pertaining to lakes. The website provides visitors and the general public with broad-based information regarding lake science, and efforts to protect them through various conservation initiatives. It is our hope that through a greater understanding of lakes, people will be inspired and motivated to aid in the protection and preservation of one of Maine's most cherished and valuable natural resources.
