Story
We have an ambitious and faithful target of partnering with 200,000 people together, laying the foundations in prayer, for the development of the Cleobury Community Hub. Our vision is to see people pray, and make a tangible commitment to their prayer by donating £1, along with their name to the Justgiving page (link at the bottom of the page).
The cost of the groundworks is estimated to be £200,000 as we demolish our hall, excavate 1,000 tonnes of earth and then lay the foundations for the extension.
Once we have built the extension, the café wall will display all 200,000 names that committed to pray for the work of the Cleobury Community Hub, as we seek to love and serve our rural community with the love of Jesus, no matter what they believe.
Our community, through the prayerful generosity of others, will know that they are seen, valued and dearly loved. Showing to all that enter The Hub that the foundations of this project have been built on the prayers of many.
Each week, after the Sunday Session, our Christian Faith Community will take a step for every prayer committed during that week, as a prayer walk. 200,00 steps will be recorded as the prayers come in.
Since we launched on the 9th April, we realised that Justgiving's minimum donation is £2. This threw us bit but after reflecting on Jesus' words we saw this as an opportunity. "For when two or three gather in my name, there I am with them" (Matthew 18:20). So we encourage you to gather with someone else, pray together and donate your £1 together, leaving all names on the Justgiving page.
We know this is a crazy, ambitious idea. That is why we know it’s from God. The population of Cleobury Mortimer and the surrounding villages is nearly 10,000 residents… We are seeking the support of thousands of people that this development will likely have no personal impact for. However, the impact on God’s Kingdom is huge.
- Noah building a boat inland on the conviction from God.
- Nehemiah rebuilt the walls and was mocked (Nehemiah 4:3)
- Jeremiah was mocked “all day long” for delivering God’s messages (Jeremiah 20:7-8)
- Jesus was mocked by onlookers as He was on the cross (Matthew 27:39-43)
In all of these events the common theme is: through obedience comes Glory to God.
We want God to be glorified through the process of fundraising for the Phase 3 development, as well as when it is operational. We want our community to be blessed and know that it is because of Jesus that we are For our community.
