Story
Our history of helping people stretches back to 1956 and over the last 65 years we've supported thousands of people out of homelessness. Unfortunately the need is greater now than ever before.
Will you take a stand with us and do something special for people who are homeless? Join our people-helping-people movement and sign-up for our £1K Challenge today!
The Challenge
The challenge: Raise £1,000 for tackling homelessness over the course of a year
How we do this is completely up to us. We can do sponsored walks, auction our unwanted clothes, join a virtual quiz night, participate in a knit-a-thon, cycle 10K, do mini-challenges, ride the bus for 24 hours, host a virtual concert and so on... The possibilities are endless!
We can do as many fundraising activities as we like and (almost) anything goes! Housing Justice have compiled a BIG list of different ideas, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
We're going to try and raise as much as we can for Housing Justice and people experiencing homelessness, but the goal is to raise at least £1,000 per person/team. We'll receive fundraising support and guidance the whole way, both from Housing Justice and from each other.
So, why not sign up to the £1K Challenge today? Join our fundraising community and achieve something you can be proud of for years to come
A long list of fun fundraising ideas can be found here.
Don't forget to join the Facebook event where we'll be sharing useful tips, ideas and inspirations.
About Housing Justice
At the core of Housing Justice is the belief that every human being has the right to a home, and our mission is to mobilise Christian action on homelessness and housing need. To fulfill this mission we deliver a number of projects and campaign nationally for policy change.
Our main projects include:
The Network - We represent and provide guidance to over 160 faith and community groups across England and support their individual responses to homelessness.
Hosting Programme - Our incredible hosts open up their homes to individuals experiencing homelessness with no recourse to public funds - almost always Asylum seekers and refugees.
Faith in Affordable Housing - We broker deals between Churches and Housing Associations to free up surplus Church land for affordable homes.
Citadel - Our Citadel project sees church and community volunteers helping vulnerable people to maintain their tenancies. This could be help with finding a job, connecting with the community or engaging with sport or a new hobby.
To increase the impact of your generosity, any donations will be used where the need is greatest.
