Story
It’s that time again – it’s 1625 Independent People’s Sleep Out!
Sleep Out will be held at the iconic Lloyd’s Amphitheatre on Thursday 2nd November 2023. We will have performances from local Bristol musicians, talks from young people, as well as some of Bristol’s finest street-food and, of course, the all-important Silent Disco!
Every year, 1625 challenges you to give up your bed for one night to raise awareness and funds to help prevent youth homelessness. Sleep Out is not intended to replicate the harsh experience of rough sleeping. Instead, it is an opportunity to recognise the impact of your community and join to help prevent homelessness, keep young people safe, and support them to build on their strengths to be the best they can be.
1625 are a youth homelessness prevention charity working with young people aged 16 – 25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or leaving care, in Bristol and the South West. As well as providing safe, stable accommodation, we provide practical and emotional support to ensure young people can build healthy relationships, develop independent living skills, and can access jobs and training.
With our services expanding and the demand for them growing, coupled with the celebration of our 40th anniversary, we’ve set our fundraising target at £40,000. To reach this ambitious target, we’re going to need your help!
