Story

"Let us not forget: the poor are almost always the victims, not the ones to blame".

These profound words from Pope Francis' Papal Bull for the 2025 Jubilee, Spes Non Confundit (Hope Does Not Disappoint), reflect the painful truth that so many around the world experience. People who suffer from homelessness and extreme poverty often find themselves in this position through no fault of their own caught in the grip of war, displacement, and systemic injustice.

The 13 Houses Jubilee Project, driven by the Famvin Homeless Alliance (FHA) and inspired by Pope Francis' call for mercy and hope, seeks to rewrite this narrative. This powerful initiative will provide homes to individuals and families in 13 countries ravaged by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. These homes are more than just four walls—they offer families a second chance at life, a place to find safety, rebuild, and dream of a brighter future.

This mission began in 2018 and was reinforced in 2022 when Pope Francis blessed the "Sheltering" statue, a gift to the Vincentian Family. It was a powerful call to address homelessness in a concrete way. Since then, the 13 Houses Campaign has brought transformation to the lives of over 10,000 people.

Now, in the spirit of the 2025 Church Jubilee, the project is expanding, aiming to provide homes for even more families who desperately need shelter, security, and a renewed sense of hope. Pope Francis will support the initiative in Syria, making it one of the "concrete gestures of charity" for the Jubilee Year.

On the World Day of the Poor 2024, Pope Francis will bless symbolic keys representing the countries in which homes will be built and lives transformed.

Every one of your contributions will be matched by a partner foundation, up to 250,000 USD of donations, for a potential total of 500,000 USD to support the 13 Houses Campaign projects.

Your contribution will fund the construction of homes, provide education, livelihood opportunities and support systemic change that lifts families out of poverty. By November 2025, with your support, individuals and families across 13 countries will not just have homes, but the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Join us in this mission to build more than just houses—help us shape futures filled with dignity and hope. Every donation makes a difference. To know more about this transformative project, click HERE.

Let’s unite to provide a future filled with hope for those who need it most. Together, we can turn this message of hope into meaningful action.
