About Us
STOP THE TRAFFIK Group is preventing modern slavery and human trafficking around the world, through our proven model.
Modern slavery and human trafficking (MSHT) devastates individual lives, and families, and makes our communities unsafe. It is estimated that the scale of MSHT exceeds $150 billion in revenue per year with over 50 million individuals trafficked annually.
Human trafficking is the biggest criminal industry in the world, but together we can be a part of the solution. We have a proven model to prevent MSHT, raise the risk to traffickers, and create an environment where their business model will fail to exist.
Last year, we reached over 5 million people around the world with our Prevention Programmes. This year, we are aiming to double that figure.
Prevention in Action
1.
Recently we had a case of a 15-year-old refugee from Afghanistan, who was considering selling their organ to a trafficker for money, as he was homeless and had his legal case for asylum rejected twice. We found him housing and connected him to a pro-bono solicitor, and shared information about the risks of organ harvesting. The outcome was that he did not sell an organ and has since recorded his story with us, helping us to warn other young people in his region.
2.
"I am from Ukraine, the city of Kharkiv. I came to England to work because it wasn't possible to stay in my city. Being alone, in another country, without English language knowledge, I urgently needed to find a new house. I managed to contact Stop the Traffik. Employees from this organisation immediately responded, explained my rights, and gave me significant support....I am appreciative of Stop the Traffik's help, work and care. They continue to support me which is very important to me now." - an individual who responded to our Ukraine Emergency Response Programme
Looking Ahead
To take our work to the next level and protect more people than ever from this exploitative crime, we need your help to imagine a future where:
Survivors of human trafficking and exploitation are empowered to share their stories into a space where their valuable insights drive real change
Governments, financial institutions, businesses and NGOs collaborate to create safer communities
People are not bought and sold
