Story

The Challenge

This February, we are calling on your support to help fund life-changing and life-saving equipment and technologies to enhance Cardiac Care in the Mater Public Hospital.

We know you have what it takes to run, jog or walk 100 Miles in a Month, so please join our community to support our wonderful medical staff in their mission to safeguard patients' hearts.

What difference will my fundraising make to patient care?

The Mater Hospital is a national centre for many specialities including:

Cardiology

Heart and Lung Transplant Centre

Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) service.

Your fundraising will allow us to enhance the vital service we provide to patients presenting with various heart conditions who are in need of critical care and immediate cardiac procedures. Having up to date equipment and supporting technology allows our doctors and nurses to discuss critical care pathways and act in a timely manner to save lives. Previous 100 Milers have already helped us fund vital projects, like our new state-of-the-art PET/CT Scanner. This is the impact of your wonderful fundraising, and we cant thank you enough.

About the charity

The Mater Hospital Foundation is the official fundraising body of the Mater Hospital. Funds raised through the Foundation are used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, enhance facilities and develop special programmes to help the hospital remain at the forefront of first class medical care.
