1,000 Alumni Challenge
With great consideration of the physical, emotional, and economic toll the current COVID-19 pandemic has taken on our society, we're asking for the support from anyone who's in a position to help by donating any amount to the A Better Chance 1,000 Alumni Challenge. We, the 16,500 Alumni of A Better Chance, received access to opportunities that transformed our lives. The National Advisory Council is now looking to you to give back in their time of need.
This is a defining moment for A Better Chance. They will be operating without the revenue generated from their largest fundraiser, the Annual Luncheon, which takes place every June and raises over $1M for the organization. The Annual Luncheon will be postponed and they are exploring alternative formats for fundraisers due to the pandemic. The new realities made necessary by COVID-19 also require critical adjustments to the services they offer to their Scholars and families. The organization works to leverage technology in new ways and need financial resources to ensure the continuity of their programming which includes standardized testing, admissions preparation, leadership training, and support with securing financial aid.
The #1000AlumniChallenge creates an opportunity to serve and protect the families affected most by this crisis and ensure the organization can continue its mission. It is in this spirit, we ask you to support A Better Chance on May 5th and through June 2nd in two ways:
1. Directly support A Better Chance through a financial donation
2. Hold a fundraiser for A Better Chance with your friends and family (see option on the right to start your own fundraiser)
We challenge you, Alumni of A Better Chance, to do your part in supporting the organization which transformed your life and gave you access to educational opportunities previously impossible. Without your support, the critical work they do is in jeopardy! The goal of the #1000AlumniChallenge is to make a definitive statement of support to A Better Chance by having 1000 Alumni of the organization give during this time of need.
