We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

My Grandmother was always a very active person who ran her own antique shop well into her 70's.  3 Years ago she was diagnosed with Dementia and her life was turned upside down. She has now moved into a home with excellent carers who give her the support and help she needs.  Dementia is a fast growing disease that affects so many people, It is estimated that by 2021 over 1 million people will suffer from Dementia.

To raise money for a charity that does such amazing work and research into this terrible disease I will be aiming to complete a 70.3 distance triathlon.

This race consists of a 1.2 mile swim followed by a 56 mile bike then to finish, the small challenge of a 13.1 mile run.  All 3 elements must be finished within 8 hours.

I'm sure many of you will think I'm mad, but I'm hoping the thought of me suffering immense pain not just in the race but all the training will be enough to motivate you to dig deep into your pockets!

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
