UNICEF works to build a better world for every child, every day. A world where every child has the chance to fulfil their potential and grow up healthy and safe. We work in 190 countries and territories around the world, reaching more children than any other humanitarian organisation.

Story

This year I've decided to do another fundraising challenge - last year I did a sponsored bike ride for another charity.

This year things are a bit different and sponsored bike rides just aren't happening, so instead I've decided to raise funds for UNICEF UK.

After watching The Long Way Up and Long Way Round on Apple TV and seeing the ways Unicef help children in the many countries the team visited I've decided to try and raise funds for Unicef.

The challenge I've set myself to do is the Cabot Trail Virtual challenge from The Conqueror Event Series.

To do this I have to walk or cycle 185 miles and my Garmin smartwatch will keep track of my mileage.

Due to the covid-19 restrictions, I'm going to be doing this locally in the Shropshire/Worcestershire border.

I intend to start this on the 1st December and do 6 miles every day up to the 31st December to complete it in time for the new year.  Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I've had to delay this.   I did the first two 6 miles on Dec 1st and 2nd however I will have to postpone it till the 1st February with the intent to finish it on the 28th February.

In February we are planning to do it much bigger and better, and hopefully gain more sponsorship opportunities for the ride, and hopefully with a Covid-19 vaccine then we will be able to get out and do it in more places.

I know at the moment times are hard for many people so I thank you in advance for any donation you can afford to help me reach my target of £1,000.
