The Transcontinental Race is an event that is relatively new. 2016 will be the 4th time it has run, when you read about it you could easily be transported back to a long gone era. When times were tough and people were tougher “this is what the organisers of the TCR say”

One stage – The clock never stops.  Racers chose where, when and if at all to rest.

No Support – Racers can only use what they take with them, or what they can find en-route at commercially available services.

No Route – Only mandatory controls ensure that racers visit some of the most famous pieces of road in Europe and connect with the suffering of their forebears.  The rest is up to them.

We gave this a go last year and like many called it a day when we felt we could not turn those peddles anymore! This year where back and instead of riding as a pair we are solo riders racing against each other the loser has to buy all the drinks at the finish ....if we can make it! Anyway you will be able to find out more about the race and have the ability to track us (see below)

Check out the TCR website to see what’s it all about

The Route

There is no marked route to follow, its all up to us! There are four checkpoints that we need to hit. This helps to make it a route that will test our navigational abilities and push us along high mountains  The planning as always will be the key to success!

The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund

Featured imageThe RMCTF is the overarching Royal Marines charity and money raised can be used for very wide purposes, probably the widest of any service charity. We are here to provide a better quality of life to serving and retired Royal Marines and their families.
