About Brecon Baroque Festival
Brecon Baroque Festival was established in 2006 by Rachel Podger, one of the world’s leading violinists and interpreters of Baroque music. Each October she gathers together leading period musicians and guest ensembles for a long weekend of performances, talks and workshops in her home town of Brecon.
Rachel’s commitment to the next generation of musicians means that each Festival includes opportunities for students and those in early stages of their careers to participate, and to play alongside musicians at the height of their profession.
The Festival also produces imaginative creative projects in the local community, bringing artists to work with schools and within social care settings.
