I am running the Big Sur Marathon on behalf of Student Sponsor Partners, a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in inner-city communities by providing private school education and mentoring to high school students. 

My husband, Henry Flores, is a 1997 SSP and All Hallows alum of the program, and it changed not only his life but that of our families as well. It was at All Hallows that Henry met Reverend Brother Anthony Bechner, the school librarian and English teacher who dedicated 30 years of his life to transforming the lives of students like Henry. All proceeds raised will go to fund The Buddy Scholarship, which has been set up to provide an All Hallows SSP student education and the Buddy like mentorship needed to succeed. Had Henry not been fortunate to call Brother Bechner his buddy, his life and the lives of countless other All Hallows SSP students may have turned out very differently. The Buddy Scholarship Fund is a way of honoring a truly selfless and loving soul who placed his students above anything else.
