Run for dad

Janik Janssens is raising money for Mental Health Foundation

Race To The King 2025 · 21 June 2025 to 22 June 2025 ·

The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.

Story

I lost my dad earlier this year. He took his own life after a struggle with his mental health. To me and others around him, it felt sudden and hard to comprehend — but mental health issues can build up over a lifetime, often hidden beneath the surface.

In honor of my dad and in the hope of helping others who may be suffering in silence, I’m raising money for the Mental Health Foundation, a UK charity dedicated to preventing mental health problems and promoting positive mental well-being through research, community programs, public engagement, and policy change.

This June, I’ll be attempting a 50km trail run (Race To The King) — with my dad, and everyone affected by mental health challenges, at the forefront of my mind every step of the way.

With my longest run on record 22km, I have some work ahead of me, but I feel confident I can do this with your support.
