Emily Thomas-Codd is raising money for Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity

Sandy Bear's Big Bash Fun Run · 7 June 2025 ·

Sandy Bear exists to support children, young people and families in the lead up to or following the death of someone close to them. Our work ensures that no child grieves alone, and that they have space to understand and to develop resilience and overcome adversity.

Story

Our foster son L (we can't name him publicly) is 8 years old and is very proud to be running in Sandy Bear's Fun Run and he would like to also raise a little bit of money for them too. He'd be delighted if you could donate anything at all. This is the first time he's ever been ready to do something so public and we are really proud of him! 🐻 💛

More about Sandy Bear...

Sandy Bear exist to support children, young people and families in the lead up to or following the death of somebody special to them. Our 1:1 and peer group support enables young people to explore and understand the process of death, dying and grief in a safe, age appropriate environment.

Our work supports immediate emotional health needs and helps build resilience, confidence and the ability for them to go on to be the best versions of themselves, not held back by past experiences.
