Every year, thousands of young Londoners are pushed into homelessness and danger through no fault of their own. That’s why New Horizon Youth Centre exists. Team New Horizon are racing for young Londoners in this year's Hackney Half Marathon.

Story

Running the Hackney Half for Homeless Young People 🏃‍♂️

On May 18th, I’ll be taking on the Hackney Half Marathon to raise funds for New Horizons Youth Centre, a charity dedicated to ending youth homelessness in London.

Every mile I run is in support of young people who deserve safety, support, and opportunities to build a brighter future. Just £5 can provide emergency food, £40 can buy a sturdy bag for someone moving into long-term accommodation, and £315 can secure a week's emergency shelter. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

Why This Matters to Me

I believe that no young person should have to face homelessness alone. New Horizons provides vital support, from emergency accommodation to counselling and job training, helping young people rebuild their lives.

Beyond fundraising, this race is also a personal challenge—pushing my fitness beyond the lacrosse field and into the streets of Hackney, one step at a time.

How You Can Help

My initial goal is to raise at least £750, which can help provide meals, shelter, and life-changing support for those who need it most. If you can, please donate—even £5 can go a long way!

And if you’re in the area, come cheer me on and celebrate after—I’ll be heading to the festival straight away for a well needed cold brew. I’d love to see you there!

Let’s make every step count! 🏃‍♂️💙 💪
