On the 6th April, I'll be running the ABP Southampton Half Marathon for Sophie's Legacy, a fantastic charity which was set up in memory of Sophie who sadly lost her battle with rhabdomyosarcoma in 2021. I followed Sophie's story closely and was touched by how hard she fought and how selfless she was. After spending so much time in hospital, Sophie wanted the following things changed to benefit sick children and their families:

1. Play specialist 7 days a week in hospitals

2. Improvements to food for children in hospital

3. For parents to be fed when staying with their child

4. For GP's, nurses and health professionals to be trained in childhood cancer

5. To increase the funds (currently 3%) in childhood cancer research

Sophie's Legacy has been set up to tackle these issues and I'm delighted they've let me join them this year.
