Laburnum is the hidden gem of Hackney, providing support and opportunities to some of London's most disadvantaged young people, all through the form of paddle sports. Laburnum is an all inclusive hub of abilities, supporting those with additional needs, those facing mental health hurdles and those in community that need a space to make friends and stay active.

Last year's donations were fantastic and helped kickstart the new A-frame project – construction has begun! This year, all funds raised will go directly towards the running costs of Laburnum Boat Club, ensuring they can continue their crucial work in the community.

More than just a boat club, Laburnum is a family. They took me in as a youth member, supported my journey to becoming a kayaking instructor and an elite athlete in canoe slalom, and even gave me the incredible opportunity to travel to Nepal. This family has shaped every part of who I am today. Laburnum holds a special place in my heart because they have assisted me in reaching some of my greatest achievements.
