My Grandad moved in with us not long ago, as his health was deteriorating. He volunteered for the NHS ambulance service right up until he was 73 and did so much volunteer work in his later years, working with a homeless charity B.A.S.H. & various others 6 days a week. He was the most selfless man I’ve ever met.
In his spirit, I’m planning on doing a monthly charity art raffle. Where you can enter with £2 all of the proceeds will be donated to a different charity every month, you will also be in with a chance to win one of my pieces.
The cloud jug filled with flowers was the last piece I showed him yesterday and he said he loved it & it was his favourite so far. So my mum's keeping it.
Rest in peace Brian Seal 🤍 Love you Grandad
This month I'm starting off with Simon on the Streets Which works to support homeless & vulnerably housed people in West Yorkshire.
Simon on the Street exists to provide support to those people in our community, who are often excluded from, or who refuse the intervention of other services, with a view to empower them to change their lives. Adopting a usually long term approach, we achieve this by providing our service users support directly on the street through outreach. Our support is unconditional, all times of day and night. We provide motivation towards accessing a wide range of services to help improve the health of our service users and the life choices they make.
