THE BIG JIGSAW CHALLENGE
We're all trying to put the pieces together again in the wake of the big lockdown. The work of Richmond's Hope has been severely restricted because so much of what we do depends on meeting with children and young people who are looking for support. There could hardly be a more critical time for our service to be available, not least because so many folks have experienced unanticipated bereavement and have not been able to say farewell to loved ones in the normal ways we expect.
It is also a time of real financial pressure for many small charities like ours. At this time of year, we normally have lots of people taking part in activities such as marathon running/other outdoor events for which they are kind enough to raise funds for Richmond's Hope. That is simply not happening in the usual way - so Martin (Chief Executive of Richmond's Hope) has decided to do what he can from home.
THE CHALLENGE: Starting on the 1st of June, Martin will attempt to make a different 1,000 piece jigsaw each day until the 5th of June. The last puzzle is 1,500 pieces, to up the pressure! You can sponsor Martin to do any number of the jigsaws - just one or up to all FIVE! It would be great if you could make it £5 per jigsaw (£25 overall) because that will help Richmond's Hope a lot - but please feel free to give whatever you can! If you can also GiftAid your sponsorship it really adds to the value of your support.
Support Richmond's Hope to continue to provide bereavement support to children and young people in Scotland. Please share our story on your social media - every little helps!
Thanks for reading - together we can put the pieces back together again!
