Story
Hi,
Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page.
We are currently raising money to make a difference to a child in need,
through the completion of sponsored events all based around the theme of 21 – making the 21st year of the 21st century one to remember rather than one to forget by making a difference to those who need it most.
To achieve this a number of individuals willing to lead from the front
and make a difference have signed up to take part and raise sponsorship through the completion of events throughout the month of October and November. Those individuals are listed in our Hall of Fame below and your donation will help to spur them on to successfully complete their challenge in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which is a charity close to our collective hearts.
Thank you for donation and please read on to find out why each and every contribution can make a difference.

Why we are choosing St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
[Deborah Kinzer]
St Jude Children’s Research hospital is more than a hospital that treats children’s cancer. Included in their mission statement, and I quote ‘no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay’. Over 25 years ago, my cousin was diagnosed with a childhood cancer that impacted our entire family. She was under five at the time, and she received the highest care, including the insertion of a port for her chemotherapy treatments, a place for my aunt and uncle to sleep and support from a truly caring staff that saw my cousin through remission to this day. All without ever receiving a bill for treatment. St. Jude uses funds donated by individuals like us to fund their research and find cures for cancer. The treatments invented at St Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% in 1962 to more than 80% today, and the goal of St. Jude is to reach a 100% survival rate someday. I’m happy to share with you today that just last week I received a ‘hold the date’ email from my cousin who was treated at St. Jude to attend her wedding next year. Our family is truly thankful to St. Jude’s, and I’ll be cycling 500 miles in the month of October for this great charity and hope you have it in your heart and your wallet to donate to this fabulous organization.
