We are making a difference to the lives and careers of musicians.

Story

In these difficult times, it’s more important than ever that we support and care for one another. Every Thursday at 8pm, the nation has done this by coming together to show our appreciation of the bravery and dedication of our NHS workers.

This year is the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. Many celebrations have had to be cancelled, along with thousands of other arts events.
Thursday the 7th May will be the 196th anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in Vienna.

We have been collaborating with professional musicians from some of the country’s leading orchestras and from around the world, who like many other artists are currently unable to work or perform. They have all kindly given up their time to record a full symphonic performance of ‘Ode to Joy’ from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony which will be ‘premiered’ on social media at 8pm alongside the clap for the NHS.

We want to invite people of all ages and musical abilities to join and sing, play or clap along to this iconic theme. From this we hope to spread a little ‘Joy’ to households across the country and above all to thank our wonderful NHS staff.

We hope you will choose to donate and support the Help Musician’s UK charity today. The money will help support their  Coronavirus Financial Hardship Fund which is providing support for 17,000 of the UK’s musicians in this unprecedented time.

and remember 7 8 9...
7th May ... 8pm ... 9th Symphony for a national ‘Ode to Joy’!”

Thank you
