I am off to India to build houses for homeless people and those who were affected by the Tsunami in 2004. I shall be digging, mixing cement, carrying heavy loads and building houses, as well as interacting with local people, playing with children and seeing some of the other sites that have been built and getting a feel of how the people in Southern India live. I am going to an area called Ponticherry (in South-East India, near Chennai) and I am spending 10 days in the region.

Sadly, due to me being miles away from home, I cannot directly fundraise in the UK, and so I have been busy fundraising in my little town in Japan. I have done facepainting at my town's local marathon (raised 100 pounds), put on the most amazing jazz/classical/rock concert (raised 150 pounds), set up Christmas Caroling (raised 150 pounds), played board games and knitted with local people in return for donations of clothes and stationary and I also took part in various other fundraising activities (eg dance nights...). On our return I have organised a Gallery for our pictures/posters/videos/objects/souvenirs... and money collected is going to next year's trip! As you can tell, I have been mighty busy~
