After Ugandan schools were closed for nearly 2 years due to COVID precautions students returned to study in January of 2022. I am seeking to enable all students at Africa with Love School to have funds to take their exams, and prevent them dropping out of school. Due to success of previous years of this campaign we have a high number of student hoping to take their secondary school exams. All funds raised go to pay for exam fees and make a real difference to the life of young people in Kyajubira village.
Without external support the students I am seeking to help do not have the money to take their exams and risk dropping out of school. I have supported and visited this school over the past 16 years, and can assure you of the authenticity of the need which is present.
46 Students are hoping to take their Senior 3 exams (equivalent GCSE) at £55 per student. 22 students are hoping to sit their end of primary school exams (after 9 years of study) £15 per student. The fundraising total equates to the fee total to support all non-sponsored students without the means to pay for themselves. If you are able to help these students that would be so wonderful. Your donation will enable them to continue with their education and receive the opportunity to obtain important exam certificates to prove their educational level.
The school has excellent Ugandan teachers who are funded through supporters of the small UK charity. Despite prolonged disruption due to Covid shutdown student 2020 exam results were the best in the district, with 100% pass rate. This is testimony to the efforts of staff and pupils despite their challenging circumstances, which for many include eating one meal a day and walking hours to and from school in all weathers. Uganda is a vibrant country with a young population, taking national exams is of huge importance to support future life options.
I have raised funds for exam fees for the past 6 years, and thanks to the generosity of many, all students needing support have taken their exams, and amazingly all have passed and continued with their education as a result.
